In a student poll conducted by the Morton Pony Express News, TikTok was named the best social media platform of 2025.
In a random survey of 110 Morton East students, 51 selected TikTok as the best social media platform of the year. According to Google AI, the winner, TikTok, is the fastest social network to reach 1 billion users and has surpassed 3 billion downloads. Also, it has been a pandemic powerhouse.
“It’s a fun and entertaining app with endless short-term videos,” said Aisha, a security guard.
“I enjoy it I was an originally a vine fan but there’s a downside, something bad about TikTok is that there is false information.” said Mr. Gamboa Morton East Principle.
Another popular choice among students was Instagram, which placed second overall.
“It’s very interesting, a lot of things to watch there like sports, news, etc.,” said Jose Mena, a junior.
Not all students agree that TikTok is the best choice.
“TikTok gets into kids’ heads, and it manipulates them,” said Damian Alvarez, a senior.
“It gives you facts and stupid ones too, good and bad,” said Miguel Jr Cardoza, a junior.
