The majority of Morton East students say testing is important.
In a random survey of 10 Morton East students, 6 said yes testing is important, 4 said no. According to Google AI, “school testing is widely considered important for measuring student progress, identifying learning pages, and maintaining objective academic standards”.
“Testing shows what we know and what we can improve on,” said senior Emma Torres.
Most people think testing is considered crucial in education because it provides essential data on student learning, improves retention through active recall, and identifies knowledge gaps for both students and teachers.
“The pressure that students have on testing motivates them to do better,” said math teacher Ms. Anthonsen.
Most students said testing is a good thing to know where we land and what we need help with, and some students said that testing is lame and boring, teachers say testing is a great way to test students’ knowledge, and it’s really helpful.
