Results from a schoolwide poll showed that Deadpool was the most popular hero and Galactus the most popular villain among students in 2025.
In a random survey of 100 Morton East students on the best heroes and villains for 2025, 46 students (46%) selected Galactus and 36 students (36%) selected Deadpool as the best of last year. Both appeared in great action movies this past year. An interesting thing about Galactus is that he is a huge person who eats planets in order to stay alive. Meanwhile, Deadpool can regenerate his body if he ever loses body parts. Deadpool can’t die, but he can still feel the pain of every hit he takes.
“They appealed to students because they were more memorable,” said security Joseph Biondolillor.
Apart from the two being more memorable, they also are seen for what they do in their movies.
“They have so much action between them,” said Antonio Pitts, a junior.
They are both great, but some students think they are not the best.
“Captain America should be number one,” said Crystal Adame, a sophomore.
But besides that, some people think that one’s better than the other.
“I think Deadpool’s better,” said Ethan Pereyra, a senior.
While Galactus and Deadpool earned first place, Varang (Avatar) and Superman finished second in the poll.
“To me, because I’m older, I like more Superman based on nostalgia; my mind is more into Superman,” said Jose Vasquez (Vee), a staff member.
