What Do Students Prefer: Starbucks or Dunkin’?
Starbucks and Dunkin’ are the most recognizable names in the global coffee industry, each with its own distinct menu. Starbucks, founded in Seattle in 1971, is renowned for its specialty coffee beverages, teas, premium coffee options, and food offerings. In contrast, Dunkin’, established in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1950, is celebrated for its more affordable coffee, quick service, and baked goods, including donuts. While Starbucks caters to those seeking a premium coffee experience, Dunkin’ serves a budget-friendly and convenience-driven customer base.
In a random survey of Morton East students, 51 students reported a preference for Starbucks over Dunkin’, while 46 students favored Dunkin’ over Starbucks. An interesting insight from a primary source came from Victoria Ruiz.
“I prefer Starbucks because it allows you to personalize your drink according to your preferences,” senior Victoria Ruiz said.
Conversely, another student, Bianca Nicolas, had a different view of Starbucks.
“I prefer Dunkin’ because of their superior coffee. Although Starbucks offers better refreshers, Dunkin’ is more economical, and they also provide a wide variety of drinks and food,” senior Bianca Nicolas said.
Perla Sanchez Villa disagrees
“I prefer Starbucks more because I really enjoy their refreshers, like the Pink drink. Dunkin’ is affordable, but their refreshers are overly sweet in my opinion.”
Overall, it appears that both Dunkin’ and Starbucks are exceptionally popular among this generation, at least from our perspective. Every day, you can spot someone holding either a Starbucks cup or a Dunkin’ cup.

Frankfother. i agree that most people prefer starbucks because starbucks has lots of choices to choose from and is also very good they also have lots of other choices that dunkin does not

Fankforther- i agree that many people prefer Starbucks over Dunkin because it allowes people to create and personlize their drinks how ever they like “Starbucks has built a more premium brand than Dunkin’ Donuts. Starbucks offers a more extensive menu and more product customization”

Frankfother- I agree many people prefer Starbucks over dunkin because you can personalize your drink but so can you for dunkin but you can see so many more people walking around with Starbucks and also has a variety for sizes while dunkin only has the main sizes for example “I prefer Starbucks because it allows you to personalize your drink according to your preferences” said Victoria Ruiz a senior

i agree that Starbucks is better than Dunkin. Starbucks has more options when it comes to drinks and i love how all the pumps taste in my opinion they taste much better than the pumps at Dunkin. and i also love the sizes they have at Starbucks like tall, grande, venti and trenta while Dunkin only has small, medium and large.

O’Malley- I agree with the students that pick Starbucks over Dunkin because I personally like Starbucks more just because they have more options, you can add things into your drink and their coffees are more different. In the article a student states she prefers Starbucks because it allows you to personalize your drink according to your preference.

O’Malley I agree that Starbucks is better than Dunkin because in Starbucks you have more options and you can add things to your drink, Starbucks also has high quality products which make it even better and catches more peoples attention.

O’Malley- I agree with Perla because Starbucks refreshes are really good in my opinion too, and you’re able to personalize them how you want. With Dunkin I really don’t go there when I do I go for their donuts. According to Investopedia Starbucks offers a more extensive menu and more product customization.

If I had to choose between Starbucks or Dunkin I would definitely pick Starbucks. Starbucks has a way larger variety of drinks, you can really customize your drink to your liking. I can say Starbucks is not as affordable as Dunkin but I really do believe that you get for what you pay for. Another plus is that the Starbucks employees are very nice! Taking a trip to Starbucks is always a pleasant experience.

O’Malley- I agree that students choose Starbucks over Dunkin. I think students choose Starbucks over Dunkin because Starbucks have more drink options or even just add-ons that you can add to a drink you already drink, like said by senior Victoria Ruiz “I prefer Starbucks because it allows you to personalize your drink according to your preferences.
