A little more than half of the student population said they are going out for Valentine’s Day, a survey says.
In a student survey conducted by the Pony Express News, 58 out of 100 students said they were going out on Valentine’s Day. According to Google AI, 31% to 35% of couples go out for a romantic evening, while 63% of couples prefer to stay in for Valentine’s Day, and 7% to 15% break up on Valentine’s Day.
For some, Valentine’s Day is a reminder of how important communication is in a relationship.
“Don’t be afraid to communicate your things, your wants, because if you don’t have the communication, the relationship isn’t going anywhere,” said security guard Joel Gallardo.
Others believe Valentine’s isn’t all about expensive gifts, but rather the meaning behind them.
“I’ve always gotten something as little as a card, and that’s the thing, that even as little as a card, even if my wife made it and my daughter made a little card, it’s the thought that counts. So, I really appreciate that,” said security guard Jose Vasquez, also known as V.
One Morton East student ended up recommending where he would take someone for Valentine’s Day.
“I’m not going out this Valentine’s, but one place I would recommend is Paisan’s; they had really good food,” said senior Lenin Guadarrama.
