Boba Bear is Morton’s favorite place to enjoy Boba Tea.
According to a survey at Morton East High School, 61% out of 100 of students and teachers like the new place on Cermak that just opened, “Boba Bear”. Boba Bear offers the best bubble tea, coffee, small bites, and exotic snacks in town! Their goal is to bring different cultures together by introducing exciting new flavors and ingredients that will take your palate on a wild ride. Fun fact bubble tea or boba was invented by a Taiwanese woman at a boring staff meeting –thet4.com
“Opening a boba shop in my hometown of Cicero has been a lifelong dream, driven by my love for the drink and the joy it brings,” said Boba Bear owner Martin P.
Boba Tea can be enjoyed at a wide window of time, typically late morning to early afternoon, allowing people to have a good and amazing drink by their side. There are so many reasons why Boba Bear is a good place to stop by. It has so many things to order, they don’t just have boba tea they have churro donuts, waffle cone, snacks from Asia and Mexico and much more.
- Chips from Asia – $4.99
- Pringles from Asia – $4.99
- Drinks from Mexico – $3.99
This is what students/staff at Morton East had to say about boba tea.
“No, the balls (of tapioca) feel weird.” senior Andy Padilla
While Andy finds the texture unappealing, the math teacher Sarah has a different perspective on boba.
“I do like Boba, but do not drink it often. Sometimes the texture is not to my liking, and I must be in the mood for it,” math teacher Sarah Schoel said.
Interestingly, Sarah shares some of Andy’s concerns about texture, but Christian seems to embrace it fully.
It’s pretty good I like it I enjoy that it’s sugary, and I like those black balls (of tapioca) in the drink,” Senior Christian Torres said.
Christian’s enthusiasm for Boba contrasts with Andy’s feelings, and Berenice is even more excited about it.
“Oh yeah, I love Boba. The tapioca beads are very chewable, and it goes well with the drink you get,” Senior Berenice Velero said.
Berenice’s enthusiasm highlights the fun aspect of boba, and it seems that teachers, too, have their favorites.
“I do like Boba preferably the taro flavor. It’s a good, sweet treat,” English teacher Miranda Garcia said.
Miranda’s preference for taro adds another layer to the discussion, showing just how diverse everyone’s tastes can be when it comes to boba.

I like the article overall, because it is a new place that opened and it gives students the perspective of what other students had to say. I also like how it talks about how the shop provides different flavors in the drinks and concessions to bring it different cultures into a drink. This is also good to give people a brief idea of the origin from where the drink comes from. I thought it was interesting that they brought in the owner of the shop because it shows the contribution to the community.

I like how informational this article is. The location, prices and links are presented. A lot of quotes from student’s perspectives on this store is shared.

I like the idea that they decided to have a boba store so close now before you would have to go to China Town if you wanted boba or were craving it now we don’t have to travel as far anymore

One thing I liked about your article was how you included the prices of some of the items on the menu so students who have never gone to Boba Bear have an idea of what to expect. ANother thing I liked was the picture that displayed the logo of the place. I think your article could’ve been stronger if you interviewed students of different grade levels instead of solely seniors, witht he exception of one teacher.

Very good prices for Boba

I liked how they used a percentage statistic in their article about the students. One thing in the article is they describe the products they have in the new establishment like the churro donuts. I think your article could have been stronger if you listed more about the types of snacks they have from Asia and Mexico.

One thing I really liked about your article, was that you included a few prices of menu items so that readers can get an idea of prices. A second thing I enjoyed about your article was the quote from the shop owner. It would help the reader if you added extra quotes from workers at Boba Bear to get their point of view.
