Students prefer 2021 action movies

East has students who seem to enjoy action and superhero movies more this year. 

Spider-Man: No way home is the best movie of 2021, survey says. In a random survey of 100 Morton East students, 66 of them selected Spider-Man: No way home as their favorite movie.  

According to Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Lands at No. 4 on All-Time Box Office List” from The Hollywood Reporter, Sony and Marvel Studios superhero blockbuster became the fourth-highest-grossing film of all time, after passing up “Black Panther” to finish the day with $702.6 million in ticket sales. No Way Home sits at No. 8 on the all-time list of top-grossing films, with $1.63 billion in revenue as of Monday. No Way Home is the first film of the COVID-19 era to do pre-pandemic level business. Mostly because the viewers were between the ages of 18 and 34.  

The 2nd top movie of 2021 turned out to be “Encanto”, a Disney movie, with 22 people choosing the film as their top favorite. The movie that came in 3rd place was “Godzilla vs. King Kong” with only 5 people choosing it. In 4th place we had “Venom: Let there be carnage” with 4 people choosing it as their favorite. In last place we had “Halloween Kills” with only 3 people choosing the film.
