What will Morton East Students do during spring break?

A bunch of different things! It’s that time of year again! Students everywhere eagerly await this cherished break from classes and exams. Whether you’re dreaming of sandy beaches, bustling cities, or simply some well-deserved relaxation, Spring Break is the perfect opportunity to unwind and make memories that last a lifetime.

In a random survey of 100 Morton East students, 34 students voted they will be relaxing for spring break. 26 voted they will be sleeping, 24 will be working a job during spring break, and lastly 16 will be working out.

“I’m probably going to be sleeping throughout the entire day because I’m pretty sleep-deprived, that, or staying up late, or I might just spend time with my friends,” senior Jorge Alvarez said.

Another student has different plans this spring break.

Senior Jimena Betancourt said, “For this spring break I’m taking this time to work extra hours and picking up extra shifts if I’m able to.”

Spring break offers students the opportunity to either relax and recharge or use the time to work and catch up on academic or even work some more during their free time.

“This spring break I will be putting more hours at work. I’m broke and I need more money for makeup, clothes, and BILLS!” senior Angelica Santander said.

Another student will go on vacation this spring break.

“This spring break I will be traveling to Texas; I am excited to get out of my comfort zone and sightsee in a new state,” senior Katherine Rios said.

For those staying home, spring break offers time to catch up.

“This spring break I will be cleaning and spending time with my kids,” said teacher Ms. Diana Saucedo.
