Hugo Castaneda

Hugo Castaneda enjoys time with friends after Half Days.

According to the Common Sense it says, “According to a study that was conducted by Columbia students, half days allow for quality learning time in classes and benefit testing and academics.

With just one half day a week, students are given more time to do homework and participate in extracurricular activities, allowing them to feel more awake in school.  Furthermore, in a survey of ten random Morton East students, 80% said they’d rather have a half day than a late start.

“Half days help us rest our bodies and minds, and we also get some time to spend with friends that we might not have time for during regular days,” Morton East student Hugo Castaneda said.
