The majority of Morton East students surveyed want Kamala Harris to win the upcoming Presidential election.

In a random survey of 96 Morton East students, they said they would rather have Kamala Harris as our next president over Donald Trump.

According to Whitehouse.gov, Kamala Harris was the first woman, the first Black American, and the first South Asian American to be elected vice president. In the past, all we had were men in this position. Currently, in most polls, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are almost tied with almost the same percentages. Until now, Kamala Harris advocates bringing people together. She has worked to fight for the freedom of women to make decisions about their own bodies, the freedom to live safe from gun violence, the freedom to vote, and the freedom to drink clean water and breathe clean air.

We interviewed some students at Morton East High School.

“I feel like she shouldn’t be president because she doesn’t have enough experience,” junior Jocelyn Flores said.

According to Forbes.com, Kamala Harris served in the Senate from 2017 to 2021. She was also the Attorney General of California.

“Kamala Harris tiene una ventaja porque muchas mujeres van a votar por ella,” senior Brayan Gonzalez said.

According to Forbes.com, this is not true as a lot of women and men aged 35 and younger are voting for Kamala Harris.

“Kamala Harris will be the best president because she is a woman and not be patriarchal,” Leticia Cuevas said.
