The majority of Morton East students say communication is the key “green light” in a relationship.
According to Google AI Overview, people make their relationships last by communicating honestly, listening to each other, showing respect, and putting in effort every day. They handle problems calmly instead of fighting, support each other’s goals, and take responsibility when they make mistakes. Green flags that help relationships stay strong include respecting boundaries, being consistent, communicating clearly, encouraging one another, and making each other feel safe and valued. A healthy relationship is one where both people feel calm, respected, and able to be themselves.
In a random survey, 80 percent of Morton East students reported loyalty and communication for a healthy relationship.
“I want a woman to be a kind person, no back talk, and be respectful,” said junior Juan Diego Bravo.
“Personality is what I look for. Communication is one important thing that every relationship should have to keep it going. I want us to support each other, respect each other, and never give up on each other,” said junior Alex Munoz-Alarcon.
“What I find attractive in a man is that he is caring, having good communication with each other, and having respect toward my family and friends,” said senior Julissa Martinez.
“Well, my wife was an athlete like me and was way better than me. She’s been getting away with a lot since she melts my heart by only looking at her eyes. We don’t celebrate Valentine’s since our wedding anniversary is on the 17th. Our relationship works by fully trusting each other, loving each other, and communication is important to our relationship. One of my favorite things about her is that I can talk to her for hours while she listens to me,” said Anthony Asay, teacher at Morton East.
