Morton Students talk about Haunted Hayrides.
According to Chat GPT, haunted hayrides are a popular Halloween tradition in many parts of the world. They typically involve a tractor-pulled wagon or carriage filled with people who are taken on a spooky journey through a darkened area, often in a rural setting, where they encounter various scary scenes, characters, and surprises. Haunted hayrides come in a wide variety of themes and intensities. Some are family-friendly and feature mildly spooky decorations and actors, making them suitable for all ages. Others are designed for older audiences and can be quite intense, featuring gruesome scenes, special effects, and actors in frightening costumes. These attractions are usually seasonal and operate during the weeks leading up to Halloween. They are a fun and entertaining way for people to get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy the fall season, often complementing other activities such as pumpkin picking, corn mazes, and haunted houses.
In a survey of 100 Morton Students, 37% of them said they have been on a haunted hayride.
“I like new experiences, and visiting a haunted hayride would be something exciting,” Morton East senior Victoria Ruiz said.
Another student agrees. “I would like to visit a Haunted hayride for the adrenaline rush,” Morton East Senior Giselle Casillas said.
While some would like to go, others say otherwise. “I wouldn’t attend a Haunted Hayride because of the environment and smell. The smell is like cow poop, not for me,” Morton East Senior Gianelle Virella said.
