Here is the team celebrating their 2nd place regional victory at Concordia University’s dining hall.
Morton East’s e-sports Overwatch 2 team has won the final game of playoffs and are headed to the finals.
The team finished second place in a regional competition against 70 schools from Illinois and neighboring states. They advance to the finals and play Westside High School of Omaha, Nebraska on Wednesday, December 13. (A livestream of the competition will be made available to students and staff for viewing.)
Overwatch 2 team players include Diego Moya, Justin Rodriguez Ramirez, Jesus Castaneda, Oscar Buitimea, Uriel Ariza, Juan Arroyo, Isaiah Lopez, Ricardo Robles, and Carmen Legorreta. Overwatch 2 is coached by English teacher Blake Lindholm. E-sports cosponsor Dalton Math coaches the Super Smash Bros team.
