facts about Halloween treats are that candy corn was created during the 1880’s in the Wunderle Candy company by George Renninger, it originally was meant to be called “chicken feed” for its resemblance to food chicken fed on. The holiday is a big business for candy manufacturers, its known for the second-largest commercial holiday in the United States for candy sales; increasing $2 billion. According to multiple surveys, the most popular Halloween candy is Snickers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, M&M’s, and Kit Kats. Some teachers use candy corn to instruct students, such as fractions, tri-color design to understand parts of a whole.  

In a recent survey, out of 8 responses, 3 students like Reese’s, 2 like KitKat. Others choose Twix, fun dip, and Hershey’s. 

Some Morton east students shared why they chose their option of snack. 

“I chose Reese’s because I like peanut butter,” said senior Zaria Markin. 

Other students chose their favorite candy by flavor 

“Me personally, I enjoy sweet and salty candy because salted caramel is one of my favorites,” said Senior Xavier Hopp 

Some students enjoy their type of flavor because of the holiday 

“I prefer sweet because that’s what Halloween is all about, sweet candy,” said Monserrat Servin
