This holiday, a majority of the students at Morton East will be staying home with their families for New Year’s Eve.

According to Woman’s Day, “15 Things to Do on New Year’s Eve,” by Colleen Stinchcombe, to be safe while wanting to hang out with friends is to have an early celebration outdoor while being six feet apart. However, you can also play video games with your loved ones online or in-person to have a fun time with family during New Year’s. People can also call their loved ones over the phone, so it would feel like they’re there celebrating with them. According to a padlet posted by journalism teacher Mr. Frankfother, 37 students will be spending their New Year’s Eve with their families.

“I will be celebrating and having a small party with my family,” senior Jocelyn Torres said.

But, not all students will have a gathering with their families.

“I will be making pizzas at my job, then go home to sleep,” senior Briana Maciel said.
