Many tournaments have been put on for each semester in the Otaku Club, which is known for their love for games and anime.

During these times, the Otaku club is known for inviting students to join in tournaments each semester, making them get attention as each tournament lets people win different prizes. No matter what grade they are, everyone is invited to join as they can bring their own console with a controller if they want. The next upcoming tournament has been revealed as it is a Smash Bro tournament as it starts on the 18th of February on a Tuesday as they also announced it will be a free tournament, meaning it will be free for everyone to join in.
Mr. Moore, one of the teachers who help run the club, explains how this can be good for students to engage with the tournament.
“I think it’s awesome for students to engage with something outside of school that can be inside of school that surround gaming,” said mathematics teacher Mr. Nate Moore.
While the reactions of others are natural about this announcement, some feel ecstatic about the upcoming tournament like Adrian Sanchez.
“I think the tournaments are a fun experience as it helps students get to know each other and have fun with the things they enjoy such as videogames,” said junior Adrian Sanchez.
When thinking about how tournaments can be good for many students in Morton High School, Diego Gracia, the present president of the club, tells us how it helps.
“It can be good for students as it can be a good thing to break from school and from stress for seniors,” said senior Diego Castillo-Gracia.
Sometimes, it helps students connect with others much more.
“Not only can they get together with their friends but also play together in the schoolground as they can compete with each other. It’s just the fun of tournament,” said senior Christian Miranda.
