Next Big Step for Morton East Seniors

2021 Morton East Graduates fresh and ready to go pursue their dreams.

With graduation around the corner Morton East seniors are beginning to prepare for their post high school life. In a survey of 10 Morton East seniors, we had quite a few interesting responses when asked what their after high school plans are.

There are seniors who don’t have a plan or just want to make sure that what they want to do is 100%. Most seniors feel rushed because of family or when they see their peers going off to college.

“To be honest, because of COVID-19 and missing a majority of my high school career, I truly do feel rushed, I don’t know what I want to do and my parents want me to join the military since I haven’t done anything to prepare for after graduation.” Senior Marcelo Ortega says

“Honestly I think I’m gonna take about a year break before I go to college to make sure I really know what I want to do. I don’t want to waste my time or my parents time going into something that I’m not fully sure about.” Senior Baudelio Martinez says.

It’s normal to not know what you want to do after high school and seniors shouldn’t stress about it, it’s never too late to go to school.

Some Seniors however, have some interesting post-high school plans.

“I plan on going to trade school, I’ve realized I’m better with my hands than I am with my head.” Senior Fernado Martinez says.

“I plan on becoming an intern for Google and hopefully land a job there.” Senior Diego Quinones says.

Even if you don’t have anything planned you can always just enjoy your time away from school.

“My plans after graduation is to get a job and hopefully buy a car by the end of the summer.” Senior Emeliano Betoncourt says.
