Morton males affected by Tik Tok vandalism trend

Tik Tok has instigated several acts of vandalism in the Morton boys bathrooms, sources say.

According to Wikipedia, “The trend originated on September 1, 2021, after TikTok user jugg4elias posted a video showing a box of disposable masks they claimed to have stolen from school, with the caption “A month into school… devious lick”.   Since then, random acts of vandalism in which students vandalize and steal school property have occurred nationwide.  In a random survey of 113 Morton East students, 97 students reported to have the app Tiktok.

“I would say that I’ve personally seen the Men’s Bathroom on the 4th Floor vandalized 7 to 8 times so far this semester,” English teacher Mr. Asay said.

However, it seems the girls bathrooms don’t get vandalized.  At least, one teacher hasn’t seen any.

“I have not been in any bathrooms that were vandalized this year” Mrs. Kehoe said.

Also, another female faculty member has not seen any vandalism in the women’s faculty or students bathrooms this year.

“I use both faculty and student bathrooms and have never seen vandalism fortunately!” Mrs. Smith said.

Judging by the teachers we’ve spoken with, the vandalisms seems to be prevalent where only the male students are.

“I’m not sure it’s just male students.  I heard that an exit sign was stolen at Morton West, and that could have been either gender,” journalism teacher Mr. Kent Frankfother said.
