Remote art classes: challenging

Have art classes during remote/hybrid affected you in some way? It’s a challenge that many students aren’t meeting.

According to proconian.com, art classes during remote learning are a challenge for teachers and students. Currently, many materials were out of stock, and teaching online presents many struggles. Oddly, for teachers, it is hard not creating connections with students. When both students and teachers had questions you either have to email them or ask in front of the class. It is stressful for teachers as well as it is for students. In a random survey of 50 Morton East students, 60% reported that they’re not putting 100-percent effort into their work.

“Art class during remote learning is challenging because I sometimes don’t have the motivation or can’t concentrate at home. Classes aren’t the same as being in a class where you can actually concentrate,” Junior Kelly Cabrales said.

Other students feel like is easier for them.

“Art class wasn’t so hard for me I was in class every day, and if I ever needed help, I would always ask. My teacher would always explain things good and didn’t make it hard for us at all,  student Anai Dominguez said.

Students also didn’t understand much.

“Art class wasn’t so bad but there were times were i couldn’t understand what was going on in that class so many things were going on and i couldn’t focus,” student Sarai Dominguez said.

Others found it harder.

“I feel like art class for me was kind of challenging because my teacher would try to teach us something in the screen but sometimes it wouldn’t work out so good since the quality wasn’t the best. Then we had to send her pictures in a specific way so it can look clear and professional,” senior Lorena Cabrales said.
