Coronavirus Voted Most Researched Topic During 2020

Google was the most popular visited cite to search for updates on most popular topics of last year’s events for Morton East Students. 

According to “Google” the top two global searches based on their “Google’s year in search” where “Election Results” and “Coronavirus” in 2020. According to “Market Watch” to a lot of people the year felt like a decade since a lot of shocking events happen. According to “Government Technology” the results from Google’s “Year in search” weren’t surprising because the pandemic is still going on and the November elections and Black Lives Matter protest were the “top of the mind” of the U.S. According to “SEJ news” the researched that was done during the historic 2020 year was research of everyone getting use to our ‘normal’ lives, concerned by the pandemic but deeply touched by the issues that many were researching how to donate to others. According to “Trends”, many of the topics that were researched became the journalist favorite things to write about, it’s mentioned that 2020 year was the most delightful year for journalist. In a random survey of 50 Morton East students / Cicero residents were interested in different topics but the most popular researched topic that they were more intrigued during 2020 was the Election Results. 

During the year of 2020 everyone was deeply concerned about COVID-19 while others tried to forget about that and take interest in something else for their own good, many looked into 2020’s election results because they believed they were the important upcoming changes for the United States of America.  

“the election result was an important event because people wanted change, a new President who will care for the nation, the events that have happen in 2020 such as the Black Lives Matter protest connect to politics, people wanted union in this country not division, Community member Teresa Avila said. 

Election Results came in first place with 26 votes. The election was a true roller coaster; everyone was looking for a change. It was very tough especially with the pandemic going on, most people voted by mail, so the results took long to be officially announced. 

I searched COVID updates most last year, I think. I searched it often because I was looking for positive rates almost daily in anticipation of moving onto the next opening-up stage,” schoolteacher Mr. Frankfother said. 

Coronavirus Updates came in second place with 16 votes. As we all kept wondering when it will be over, the symptoms, how many cases confirmed, we were all overly concern for our humanity and health.  

“To be aware of what the symptoms look like and what we should be looking for in case we think we or others have the virus, Community member Lizbeth Aragon said.
