Mice found in cafeteria

Morton East High school had found at least 20 mice in the school cafeteria eating the food.

Cicero has had 354 rodent cases in the past 20 years; a crackdown is so serious that town leaders recently voted to increase spending on rat control by 340 percent this year to the tune of nearly three- quarters of a million dollars, an almost unheard-of amount for a town of Cicero’s size.

“Most definitely I still served that food son ain’t none going to waste,” a cafeteria worker said.

Students from Morton East had something to say about this situation.

“I think it was nasty having rats in school especially in the cafeteria —  but food is food,” Rosalinda Granados said

Other students think otherwise about this situation — like this Morton East student.

“This is why I don’t eat at lunch. I am so glad I didn’t eat that food,” Yoselin Avalos said.
