Is Morton East Finally Getting Rid of Uniform?

Morton East High School has announced by next year we will start to wear out of uniform.

The district of Morton has had been having a uniform since 2000. The past Students have always complained about the dress code being too strict and annoying.  Students wanted to express themselves by dressing up with normal clothes and they believed we should be allowed to show their individuality in schools. Most students hate the idea of wearing whatever they want because they believe that by wearing a uniform it helps to prepare you for the “real world” such as jobs. About 21% percent of the public required uniform in public schools and about 76% percent or more of the school could wear what they want. Over the years about 2% percent of public schools have been wearing uniforms due to bullying. About 40% percent of students believe we should wear a uniform and 70% percent said we should wear whatever we want.

“By next year, of the beginning of the first semester Morton east high school will be banning uniforms”. Mr. Frankforter.

Some students don’t like this idea.

“I feel if Morton does take away uniforms it will make its students feel less professional, and making its students wear uniforms in school can make them feel more prepare for the real world when they will have to have jobs, that required wearing a certain type of uniform”. Jonathan Cruz.

Other students do like this idea.

“Wearing any type of clothes, well as long that it’s appropriate, it will make students feel more comfortable with their own self’s and have more freedom to express them self’s as well”. Jorge Gomes.
