Artificial trees growing in popularity

People prefer artificial trees.

Christmas trees have been part of tradition for about 400 years but recently people have started to prefer artificial Christmas trees over real ones. 1/6 of the people buying Christmas trees prefer real trees over artificial ones. When it comes to buying a tree, you must think about a lot of factors. Here are some facts to help you pick out your tree. Today, most artificial Christmas trees are made from PVC plastic. This plastic can be good for your tree because it is a durable material and is weather resistant. The use of evergreen trees to celebrate the winter season occurred before the birth of Christ. Some people use evergreen trees as a symbol for everlasting hope or as a symbol for something they believe has strong cultural meanings. If you are not into having an evergreen in your house, other types of trees such as cherry and hawthorns were used as Christmas trees in the past. Which are good for aesthetics purposes if you do not use any ties such as belief or family to pick a tree.

“To me Christmas trees represent the joy people have for Christmas.” says Jordy a senior student.

It seems he is not the only one who shares this opinion on Christmas trees.

“It symbolizes the Christmas spirit everyone has.” said Julio another senior student.

There are too many definitions for what a Christmas tree symbolizes to list them all here so you can decide for your own what a Christmas tree is for you and this is just one of the meanings people give to Christmas trees.

“Yeah, I have a Christmas tree,” said senior student Fernando.

While some people might not have a Christmas tree for a variety of reasons most people have the pleasure of having one.
