According to “21 easy Christmas treats to celebrate holidays!” from Priyanka Dutta, holiday treats should be healthy and easy to make.  Low-calorie chocolate hummus is a healthy and delicious dish that you can serve with fruits or any kind of snack or biscuits. “Made with chickpeas, tahini, unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup and vanilla extract, it’s an easy recipe to whip up in a food processor or blender when cravings strike! It can also be accompanied with fruits to dip in This easy recipe is great for people who like to stay healthy and are not into sugary dessert as this can also calm down cravings. https://skinnyfitalicious.com/low-calorie-chocolate-hummus/

Crispy cookies must be included here. Everybody likes a satisfying crunch on cookies which will be a perfect snack for the holidays. These are also great to stuff yourself when you’re still feeling a little hungry.   https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/crispy-chocolate-chip-cookies/

Red velvet Oreo balls are also included. “Christmas red velvet Oreo balls are made with only 3 ingredients and perfect treats for Valentine’s Day or Christmas days or any special occasion.” These seemed good and best to bring to a holiday event. All you really need is cake and frosting or cream cheese, mix, then roll them into balls and you are done but if you want to make it fancy you can add chocolate or sprinkles. Extremely easy treats that kids and teens would enjoy in these holidays. https://butterwithasideofbread.com/red-velvet-oreo-balls/

Finally, we got raspberry chocolate Swiss roll cake. This cake is incredibly beautiful and easy to decorate. This recipe was posted by Melanie from spend with pennies. She claims that “it’s actually quite easy! Now, you cannot just take a regular cake recipe and roll it up. It’s got to be a sponge cake!” It’s such a great dessert, which also looks fancy.  https://www.spendwithpennies.com/raspberry-chocolate-swiss-roll/#wprm-recipe-container-136918

These are quick and easy desserts that are great for these holidays. Interestingly in a random survey of 50 responses the majority would rather cook or bake for the holidays.

“It’s something me and my mom like doing every year like a mini tradition of baking together” a Morton east sophomore, Sofia DLS says.

“We rather make our own foods and desserts. This is because during the holidays most places are either packed or closed. I think it’d also be better for the people who are opening restaurants during the holidays; just a little bit less work on them.” says Jocelyn, senior from Morton east.

While others agree to disagree, “My grandma and Tia’s go crazy in the kitchen when making food, we don’t need to buy already cooked food for the Holidays. Dessert Is different because getting it at the store is better than burning cookies at your crib” Junior at Morton, Alexia Zamudio says.

I hope you find these helpful and have an amazing holiday with plenty of delicious dishes waiting for you!
