Most students at Morton East watched or attended Super Bowl parties.
In a random survey of 100 Morton East students, 53 reported that they attend or host Super Bowl parties. Some people watch the Super Bowl at friends’ houses, where they also play games.
Senior Bryan Lucio shared his experience: “I usually watch the Super Bowl with my family and friends, sometimes at my aunt’s or uncle’s house, sometimes at mine.”
Another student said, “My family is big on football, so every year we throw a little party—nothing big, just family.”
While some students at Morton East celebrate the Super Bowl, others do not.
“I’ve heard about Super Bowl parties, but my family doesn’t celebrate or do anything special when it happens. If I go to my friends’ house and join them, it’s mostly for the food,” junior Luis Guzman said.
Junior Luiz Juarez had a different perspective: “I don’t do Super Bowl parties. I personally find them boring. It’s interesting to know who wins, so I just search up who won the next day instead of staying there for however many hours.”
