Students at Morton East High School fear suspense the most in horror movies.

According to Phycology Today’s “The Top Ten Things That Make Horror Movies Scary ” by Ronald Riggio, there are many factors that make scary movies scary, things such as the fear of death, scary places, dismemberment and suspense. These factors have a psychologic impact on our brains that make us feel scared making a scary movie, scary. In a poll of 61 Morton students, 43 believe that suspense is what makes a scary movie scary.

Interestingly the majority of students believe that suspense makes a scary movie scary, but 9 believe otherwise, they think spooky music is what makes it scary.

Amusingly, only four students fall for spooky settings and places.
