Social media war: Facebook versus Instagram

What do you use most — Facebook or Instagram?

Over the past couple of years, Facebook has become less and less popular for teenagers. It was once that most used form of social media, but recently teens have been using Instagram more frequently since Facebook is often too complicate and overrun by parents ( www.quora.com). Instagram is a photo sharing app which allows users to assign filters to photos and share them with followers. Facebook is an app that allows you to post and share pictures and make states. Instagram and Facebook have developed their app by making sure that people can go alive ( www.square2marketing.com). Facebook users from 2008 to 2018 Facebook has 2.27 billion monthly active users. During the survey period 50.3% of Instagram user were females and 49.7% were male ( www.statictis.com). in a random survey of 100 Morton East students 95 students reported that they have social media.

“I use Facebook more than Instagram because that was my first social media account I created when I was 8th grade. I find Facebook more interesting because it randomly shows interesting videos without looking for them,” senior Cynthia Ortega said.

Most students use Facebook more than Instagram, but sometimes students don’t have Facebook for many reasons and use Instagram instead.

“I never had a Facebook, so I always use Instagram because my mom never allowed me to have one, but I feel like Instagram is a better app because I heard Facebook just brings drama,” sophomore Brianna Ramirez said.

Most students would use Instagram and Facebook a lot; those two were the most popular apps, but there’s a new app that most students nowadays use.

“Facebook and Instagram were the old apps that everyone used; most people now use Snap chat for everything, even me.  (Now) that I’m older than you guys I still snap chat my friends or family members,” a mom of a senior said.

Even though everyone uses social media not everyone does

“While everyone enjoys using social media, I’m the type of person who tries to stay out of it. I feel like it distracts me from school, and it won’t let me concentrate on other things I have to do,” junior Francisco Cardenas said.
