On November 18, 2016 the annual tree lighting took place in Millennium Park, Chicago. The event attracted many people to see the spectacular moment of the tree lighting and a Christkindlmarket where people have the opportunity to buy different types of goods and decorations for Christmas. Morton East students Stephanie Buenaventura and Jazmin Camargo  enjoyed a performance by the International Sensation Percussion and a parade the following day November 19, 2016 where different fictional characters came to life and welcomed the holidays with everyone who decided to come out and celebrate.
