Chicago Wolves battle the Cleveland Monsters

It was definitely a game for Halloween — the Wolves against the Monsters!

On October 24, marketing classes from Morton East and West had the opportunity to go see two rival teams play against each other in a hockey game. The Chicago Wolves went against the Cleveland Monsters at the Allstate Arena.  Fortunately, the Chicago Wolves were able to defeat the Cleveland Monsters 6-2.

The game was very back and forth for the first half, but going into the second half the Wolves began to push the Monsters and were able to score more goals. Many students from both schools and hockey fans attended the game, the stadium was lit up with screaming and cheering the teams to victory.  In twenty professional seasons, Chicago has won four league championships, six conference titles, and seven division championships, while failing to qualify for the playoffs four times. The Wolves’ first title came in the 1997–98 season when they won the Turner Cup as IHL champions.

Senior Sebastian Guzman said “I liked the introduction, like the fireworks and the flames. I learned what to do and what not to do to get the job there.”

Students and fans cheered when the hockey players came out and presented themselves.

At the end of the game, some schools were given the chance to meet the president of the Wolves hockey team, and he gave them a quick pep-talk about what you should and shouldn’t do for an interview or trying to apply for a job.

“I learned the proper things I needed for my resume and what I should put for my future employment,” senior Hector Preez said.

At the end of the game, the Wolves were able to defeat the Monsters 6-2 and the students and fans cheered and were really excited all the way back to school.
