Culinary serves up Veterans Day lunch

The food was getting cold, and the veterans were sending food back with special orders.  This made the Morton East culinary kitchen hectic — just like a real restaurant.

Morton East High School hosted a Veterans Day lunch on Wednesday, November 14. This event took place in the culinary room. This event occurred to honor and thank the veterans for their service. About 20 people assisted to the event and most of them were veterans. Some teachers and Mr.Gamboa were there as well. During the event, there were people giving speeches.

“I believe that it’s a good idea for the school to host an event like this for the veterans. They should be appreciated, and people should always be thankful for their service,” senior Carolina Herrera said.

It seems like other people think the same way.

“No one really does anything for the veterans anymore and it’s good to hear that some people do things to thank them,” senior Crystal Ramrez said.

This is something the school does mostly every year and it’s a good thing that they haven’t stopped.

I wasn’t aware of this event, but I think that that was something nice from the school to do.” senior Natalia Escobedo said.
