The majority of Morton East students will be cooking this Thanksgiving.

6 out of 10 students say they will help cook Thanksgiving dinner this year, 3 out of 10 teachers say they will help cook dinner. According to a survey done by students and teachers in a random poll.

What is the worst thing about cooking Thanksgiving dinner?

“The worst thing about cooking dinner for Thanksgiving is the cleaning of the pots, pans, and dishes that come along with making the different the different courses, meals, and sides,” Cicero resident Metzin Rios said.

What is the best thing about cooking Thanksgiving dinner?

“Cocinar para Thanksgiving es muy bonito porque estoy cocinando para toda mi familia. Juntarnos todos y darle gracias a Dios. Por nuestros alimentos y estar todos juntos,” Cicero resident Sara Curiel said.

What is the most difficult thing about planning and cooking a Thanksgiving dinner?

“The most difficult things is making enough food for the number of guests, and making sure you have something that everyone likes to eat. Some people have dietary restrictions while others may just like most dishes.   Another challenge is getting people to help, so you’re not doing it all.  (Otherwise, you) risk burning the food..lol,” culinary arts teacher Karl Benford said.

What do you enjoy the most about cooking a Thanksgiving dinner?

“The most memorable thing is that moment when you look around and everyone is smiling and laughing, enjoying themselves! it about the memories you make spending time with family and friends, some you might haven’t seen in a while but it’s all good.  You’re sharing that moment together over a good meal,” culinary arts teacher Karl Benford said.

How long does it normally take to prepare a whole Thanksgiving dinner?

“ALL DAY!   depending on the size of the family most meals can take  4-6 hrs if not longer,” culinary arts teacher Karl Benford said.
