This past year there have been many new anime shows, however it’s the ongoing series that have been the most popular among students, especially those with a fantasy/ science fiction world.

“Attack on Titan” (final season) is the best anime of 2021, survey says. In a random survey of 50 Morton East students, 16 selected “Attack on Titan” as their favorite.

The two most prominent genres found in “Attack on Titan” are dark fantasy and apocalyptic fiction. The first episode of “Attack on Titan” was released on April 7, 2013. The anime entails a story set on protagonist Eren seeking revenge on Titans for destroying his home, however, many hardships would follow unknowingly as well as a surprise as to what exactly he is and what humankind is as well.

Following “Attack on Titan”, the second best anime chosen was “One Piece” which has also been ongoing for a long time and just recently celebrated their 1000 episode. Third place was “Demon Slayer”.  Fourth place was “Jujutsu Kaisen”, and fifth place was “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure”.
