We welcome you to our freshmen year!
May 14, 2020
It was only the beginning. New school, new friends, new teachers, new everything. It was an experience that would remain with us forever.
August 15th, 2016 was our first day as Freshmen’s, and this one will always be memorable to me. I remember being nervous leaving behind my friends from my old school and starting out fresh at Morton Freshman center. Once us Freshmen’s got this warm and friendly welcoming, I knew it would be a good four years.
One of my favorite football games. In 2016 there would always be a big crowd, hardly any room to sit on the stands. And, I was fortunate to shoot the T–shirt gun during a varsity game with who is now our Superintendent, and he’s a pretty– cool one.
Walking my first parade, the Cicero’s Houby Day Parade. It was an amazing experience, being able to walk down Cermak and seeing the town residents in Cicero and Berwyn and being able to see the kids’ faces when they see the cheer and dance team.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been called a Princess and seeing movies about high school girls being crowned homecoming Princess and Prom queen. Those moments I’ve seen on TV stuck with me for as long as I can remember and till this day my family calls me “Princess”. Freshmen year I decided to pursue that dream and actually won! It was the best feeling ever and will forever treasure that moment.
So, this memory is a little funny to me for two reasons LOL. 1. Being that I made the team with no experience or intention of actually making it, and 2. When they actually gave me a chance to kick the ball, I wasn’t even supposed to kick it! Not all memories are good memories but I think it’s fun to be able to laugh at yourself looking back which makes it worth it in the end.
