Frankfother- This article was too short but I believe they needed more quotes and try to ask students where they get their coffee from and what they think is the best coffee.

Genge –
Coffee can cause sleep deprivation on teenage students. Sleep deprivation in teens can affect their education, mental health, and physical health. Therefore, I think it would be better if students looked for healthier ways to feel more energetic in the morning instead of drinking coffee every morning.

Drinking three to five eight-ounce cups of coffee a day is considered a measured and healthy amount of coffee to take for the following benefits. Coffee can help protect you against cirrhosis of the liver which is a disease in the liver mostly caused by alcoholism. It can also reduce your depression and risk of parkinson’s disease. Coffee is also extremely beneficial for fiber intake which basically helps you lose weight by making you feel full for a long time while lowering cholesterol levels. I believe drinking coffee in a measured amount is healthy for high school students and adults.

According to the Center for Control and Prevention the estimate of 73% of american children drink caffeine each day, drinking caffeine can have some bad affects like some sleeping problems, it can increase anxiety and nervousness and it can also cause other issues.
Even though coffee might have some bad affects, i and other students still drink it because it can have some benefits. For example making us feel more awake and productive

Genge-
I use to think that teens drinking coffee wast that bad for kids. Its true if you walk by the hallways in the morning many kids do have coffees. But did you know that. “Heavy use can cause side effects, such as nervousness, anxiety, literariness, sleep problems, gastrointestinal disturbances, tremors, increased heart rate and even death.” So i’m nor saying that teens should not drink coffee they just need to make sure they don’t drink it to often and small portions.

I personally drink coffee because study’s have shown that drinking coffee can reduce the risk of developing and dying from heart disease. Also drinking coffee reduces the risk of ischemic stroke. This is why I drink coffee.

“Genge” Did you know that 73% of teenagers drink coffee? Even though there are no nutritional value for drinking coffee, its beneficial towards teenagers. Coffee reliefs from fatigue, which helps them focus more since they are more awake and aware. Coffee also improves memory, making it easier to study or do better on tests, and is better then teenagers doing drugs or alcohol.

Genge-
Honestly I’m not surprised that the majority of the students surveyed drink coffee. It is very common for students, even people to drink coffee in the morning. According to studies, drinking coffee can help people feel less tired and increase their energy levels which can help students be more productive during their school day. On the other hand, too much coffee can have its disadvantage such as high blood pressure. Drinking coffee isn’t bad as long as students don’t excessively do it.

Genge- I think that drinking coffee in the mornings is a really good way to start off your day. Studies have shown that drinking coffee in the mornings can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, Parkinson disease, and the risk of heart disease. I think that we should be taking full advantage of the benefits that coffee gives us and to enjoy them to the fullest.
Deisy Ramos • Feb 14, 2020 at 12:48 pm
Ms. Genge- I do not like coffee, so I do not drink it. I think that coffee could be beneficial for students. In some studies it was proven that caffeine makes you retain more information in your brain. Also, it showed that it lowered depression rates. But, coffee could become addictive, and can cause a lot of health problems. These include heartburn, stomach ulcers and headaches. If you do drink coffee just have self-control.

Genge-This really isnt that surprising because A survey that was taken in the U.S showed that out of 3,000 people 64% drink it daily. Coffee has many benefits but that’s if you dont drink it everyday because having coffee everyday depending how much you drink can lead to health problems.

Genge- It is common for students to drink coffee in the morning, common for people in general. It becomes sort a natural habit to drink coffee in the morning which is not bad because coffee does include health benefits, such as improving energy levels. So I am not very surprised that a majority of the students at school drink coffee. I see people everyday walking around with a cup a coffee.

Genge: I believe that Morton should stay away from the sale of coffee/caffeine products. Since caffeine is still considered as a drug, students can easily become addicted to it which could lead to various health issues. The fact that the majority of Morton students are consuming coffee in the morning is alarming to me.
Athenea Espana • Feb 14, 2020 at 12:28 pm
Genge- It is commonly known that the majority of the students in Morton East drink coffee in the morning. Studies show that coffee drinkers have greater bone density than non-drinkers. Coffee can also help someone have a stronger DNA. Since the white blood cells of coffee drinkers have far few instances of spontaneous DNA strand breakage, coffee does help have stronger DNA.

Genge: i think that drinking coffee in the morning is bad for the most part because it may lead students blood pressure to rise, it increases the risk of young adults to have a heart attack. those are only a few of the reasons why its unhealthy for students to be drinking coffee in the morning.
Gisell Estrada • Feb 14, 2020 at 12:24 pm
Genge- There appears to be a slight growth in the amount students who prefer to drink coffee in the morning, but are they aware of the negative effects that coffee can have on them? Coffee can raise stress levels from all the caffeine that’s in the beverage, also causing heartburn, stomach ulcers, headaches, etc.
Jaime Avalos • Feb 14, 2020 at 12:24 pm
Genge- I don’t drink coffee i think that i don’t need it. I know some people that drink it because they are tired and they need more energy to stay awake but i think that to much coffee is bad for you. On healthline it says that coffee can increase the risk of acid reflux and heartburn.

Genge- what are the long term effects of drinking too much coffee?
Oscar Gonzalez • Feb 14, 2020 at 10:26 am
Genge, I personally don’t drink coffee in the morning, but if students drink coffee in the morning so they can feel awake throughout the school day, then do it. But I don’t think its healthy to drink it everyday because it can cause some health issues.
Nathalie Sedano • Feb 14, 2020 at 10:21 am
Genge- It been researched that 48,000 people drink at least a cup of coffee a day. Coffee provides many benefits to those who drink it. Coffee can help protect diabetes type 2 along with lowering the risk of liver cancer. But I believe having too much coffee can damage you as if it were anything else. You shouldn’t consume a lot of something and you should maintain it from being an addiction.

Genge- 2nd hour
Drinking coffee has a lot of benefits and helps lowers the risk of some diseases. Drinking coffee increases your fiber intake, protects against cirrhosis of the liver, lowers the risk of Type 2 Diabetes, lowers risk of Alzheimer’s disease, reduces suicide risk and Depression, protects against Parkinson’s, and coffee drinkers have lower risk of heart diseases. Coffee drinkers have up to an 84% lower risk of developing cirrhosis, with the strongest effect for those who drink 4 or more cups per day. Liver cancer is also common. It is the second leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Coffee drinkers have up to a 40% lower risk of liver cancer.
Although coffee has many benefits it also has some bad effects more than 4 cups of coffee linked to early death, caffeine consumption may raise blood pressure, increased risk of heart attacks among young adults, caffeine linked to gout attacks, breast tissue cysts in women, caffeine could cause incontinence, and caffeine may cause insomnia.

Genge- verywell health. com says that coffee gives unwanted side affects due to the caffeine in it such as restlessness, insomnia, and muscle twitching. they also say caffeine makes your bones lose calcium.

Ms. Genge- Drinking coffee in the morning is bad for you specially if you are drinking it in large portions in a short period of time, Statistics have shown that drinking coffee in the morning is bad for you. While coffee may be an effective solution to jolt a person awake, health experts say it may not be the best drink to go for the first thing in the morning. In the first one to two hours after a person wakes from sleep, cortisol, a stress hormone, is secreted in large amounts. Cortisol is what helps a person to wake up. Coffee’s caffeine plays a similar role as cortisol, creating possible side effects such as headache, upset stomach or excessively fast heartbeat.

I think it’s common for high school students to be drinking coffee here at Morton. It’s not a bad thing and it doesn’t affect students in an unhealthy way. Based on facts, 14.8% of high school students nationwide drank a serving of coffee, coffee drinks, or any kind of tea daily. Today, nearly four in 10 American teens drink coffee, according to the NCA’s research.
Joshairys Rodriguez • Feb 14, 2020 at 10:02 am
Ms. Genge- I don’t drink coffee every morning but I do on occasion. It’s very easy to forget that caffeine is a drug and it can be addictive. Too much caffeine can disrupt sleep cycles and prevent you from getting enough nutrients and developing properly. I know people who drink coffee every morning and I don’t think it’s healthy.
Michelle A Peralta • Feb 14, 2020 at 9:43 am
Genge-There are the good things about coffee that are able to help students “Recent research has shown that coffee, in particular, may help boost our concentration and memory. Partly that’s because coffee beans are seeds, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) reminds us, and like all seeds, they’re loaded with protective compounds.” those protective compounds are able to also prevent from diseases .

Ms. Genge – I personally don’t drink coffee in the morning because coffee doesn’t make me wake up in the morning. Coffee is still bad for you if you consume it at a young age every day. Consuming it a lot can affect one’s puberty stage but it’s not harmful if consumed once in a while. How often do students drink coffee? Where do they usually get it at?
Humberto Villasenor • Feb 14, 2020 at 9:21 am
Genge:
Drinking coffee after waking up is actually a bit counterproductive. Not only does it make the caffeine’s effect weaker, but it tends to lead people to build a tolerance for the drug (caffeine). This making the coffee drinker drink more and more to get the effect of the caffeine.
Tiffany Ruiz • Feb 14, 2020 at 9:19 am
Genge: Caffeine has become a huge part in many teenagers morning routines. Many wake up early just to go get a coffee in order to have that energy throughout the day. Up to 73 percent of adolescents consume caffeinated drinks. Many schools are now selling coffee to students because of how famous coffee is for these teenagers. As for how much teens should consume should be discussed because too much caffeine can be dangerous.
Michael Fuentes • Feb 14, 2020 at 9:07 am
Michael. F, Genge- Im not much of a coffee person, but I do think it’s good to drink once in awhile mainly due to the fact that if you drink coffee to frequently some of the disadvantages would involve raising your stress levels, dehydration, heart burn, headaches, and ect.
Diego Sazo • Feb 14, 2020 at 9:05 am
Genge – I believe that students drinking coffee is not good for their health. Research shows that drinking coffee leads to insomnia, nervousness, and a negative effect on concentration ability. It is worrying that more than half the students admitted to drinking coffee because they could be suffering academically from this.
Dulce Moreno • Feb 14, 2020 at 9:04 am
Genge: Its not really surprising that there are a lot of people in this school that drink coffee since every corner you turn someone is holding there cup of coffee. Caffeine has a lot of effects on teens, some of these include dehydration, upset stomach, and jitteriness. In a caffeine study it shows that students who stay up drinking caffeine have trouble concentrating the next day.
Humberto Villasenor • Feb 14, 2020 at 9:03 am
Genge:
Drinking coffee after waking up is a bit counterproductive. This makes the the caffeine’s effect weaker, it makes people build tolerance for the drug (caffeine) . This will then make you need more and more of it to get the full effect of the drug.

I think that too much of everything is bad for you. I believe in the idea that you should moderate with moderation. I personally do drink coffee in the morning but not everyday. The days that I do drink, the coffee is very strong and keeps me on my feet until about 1:00 which after I crash and what to curl up and sleep. I know that for some people need coffee in order to wake up feeling refreshed but this can be solved by getting a good night’s rest before. The students that do drink coffee every morning share this event with 64% of American in America in North America. Here is a cool documentary about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ.

Statistics have shown that adolescents are the fastest-growing population of caffeine users.
Studies have shown that adolescents drinking too much coffee can have an affect their concentration and ability to sleep.
Text to world- At Morton East more than 50% of those who were surveyed drink coffee in Australia about 15% Teens are drinking coffee regularly.
Julissa Carreno • Feb 14, 2020 at 7:26 am
Genge- I think that it’s crazy how out of a survey of 100 students, more than half of them said they drank coffee. This shows how much students really take the liking to the caffeinated drink and how perhaps, for some, it’s a tool to help them stay awake during a long school day right here in Morton. Moreover, according to some research, 14.8% of high students nationwide drink coffee, coffee drinks, or any kind of tea daily. However, students should remember that it’s only recommended for teens to drink about 100 mg of coffee per day, as too much can be bad for them.

Betsy Carreno • Feb 14, 2020 at 7:08 am
Ms. Genge – I also drink coffee every morning. I sometimes get really tired when I don’t drink some. It’s known that a lot of coffee is bad for you, but taking little sips of it is one of the healthiest things you could do.
