While the majority of students at Morton East have not used the school library — unless their teachers have taken them there for class — a significant number of students are regular visitors to the library for both study and leisure.
In a random survey of 100 Morton East students, 67 said they haven’t gone to the library (unless taken by teacher); 33 said they do use the school library. According to Google, yes, school libraries are used by understudies and are a critical part of the learning environment. They get access to a wide range of resources, including age-appropriate books, advanced materials, and specialized tools to support students’ academic success and their interests, like fostering skills. High school libraries, too, serve as important spaces for collaborative work, independent work, and for creating media education skills.
According to Google AI mode, more than sixty studies over the last 50 years consistently show that students who use the library do better than students who do not.
Many older genres are slowly being forgotten and are getting boring to many students.
“I think romance is a generic genre used in the library,” said Soledad . Gonzalez
Many other students use the library for their own classes, such as Xiomara.
“I use the library to read for the kids in my parenting class, ” said senior Xiomara Gonez.
The Knowledge Center is not just an escape for the little kids, but also an escape for the teenagers.
“I use the library to get out of supervision, since it’s much quieter,” said junior Angelina Millan.
When Angelina Millan needs to get away from loud classes, she goes to the library. Another student, Alejandra Diaz, said the library is useful to her for searching for useful tools for her classes.
“The library helps me find useful topics for my classes,” said senior Alejandra Diaz.
Historically, libraries are places to get work done.
“I go to the library to study,” said junior Aldo Rios.
