Most Morton students didn’t make a New Year’s resolution this year.
In a random class survey, 3 out of 11 Morton East students said they have a New Year’s resolution. That’s 27% of the students surveyed. This shows that most students do not have New Year’s resolutions, and only a small number of students have resolutions.
Here’s what students had to say about this topic:
“Yes, I have a New Year’s resolution. Yeah, I want to gain weight, grow more muscle, and get rid of bad habits,” said sophomore Yovany Perez.
“Yes, I have a New Year’s resolution. I want to do really well this semester so I can pass with good grades,” said junior Geovanni Landa.
Some students want to do more than just pass this semester, maybe even change who they are.
“I want to become a better person this year than I was last year in 2024. It’s a new year, new me,” said senior Jorge Ortiz Navarrete.
There are also people who want to break old habits from the previous year.
“Yes, I have a New Year’s resolution. I want to save money. I had a New Year’s resolution last year, but I did not stick with it,” said English teacher Ms. Gonzalez.
Others may be too busy to concentrate on their own resolutions.
“No, I don’t have a New Year’s resolution. I don’t have the time to plan many things while I take care of my baby nephews. I did have one last year; it was to go to the gym and do it consistently,” said senior Bryan Gonzalez’s mom.
As you can see, there is a decent number of people and students who made New Year’s resolutions. It can help people accomplish their goals and stay consistent with what they want to achieve.
