Students at Morton East apparently listen to music more than they watch movies.
In a random class survey, 9 out of 15 Morton East students said they discovered a new music artist over break.
Here’s what people had to say about the topic:
“My favorite movie would be *Avatar* (blue people) because it’s nostalgic to me and something I’ve watched often ever since I was little. I also love ‘Sexy’ from *Mean Girls*, and I’ll be participating in that (the theater production),” sophomore Vincent Feliciano said.
“Daniel Caesar (is a new artist I discovered). He’s really sexy, and he’s good at singing. I really like his music. I think I really connect with this man,” junior Mariely Mendoza said.
“A new song I discovered over break was ‘F.L.Y.’ by Spectrum. My favorite movie of all time is *Everything Everywhere All at Once*. I love it because of the symbolism it displays in each part of the movie. I would perform the song ‘Tormento’ by Mon Laferte,” senior Eren Robles said.
“A new song I discovered is ‘Swerving’ by The Ball Brothers. My favorite music artist is Drake; one of them is Lil Durk. A couple of others are Kanye and a lot of Chicago rappers. These are my favorite because they have a lot of stories to tell about their life and how they grew up. It reminds me of me growing up and being born and raised in Chicago,” staff member Joseph Robertson said.
As you can see, people of all ages love to listen to and discover new music.
