Morton East students are in favor of the construction class.
Carpentry gives you the opportunity to join a union or trade school. The school provides you with an OSHA 10 card that can benefit you in the long run, helping you get a job with basic safety and health knowledge. It teaches you how to use certain tools like table saws, nail guns, routers, jigsaws, etc. They take you on field trips to see what path you might like to take after high school. Recently, construction students visited pipefitters, which gives you experience. In a random survey of 102 Morton East students, 45 students reported that they didn’t know there was a construction class at Morton East.
“Construction at East will help students get certified for OSHA 10-hour construction safety and health. It will also help students determine what they would like to do after high school if construction is something they are willing to pursue because there is a big demand in the construction industry,” construction teacher Mr. Rick Robilotta said.
After hearing this, senior Aguirre said he wouldn’t mind taking construction at East.
“Otherwise, that class sounds like fun. I bet that class isn’t boring, and it seems suited for people who like construction,” senior Martin Aguirre said.
Another student agrees with senior Aguirre.
“However, I would like to take carpentry because it is a fun class, and I enjoy building things,” senior Josue Servantes said.
While construction may be fun, it is also an interesting skill that can lead to a future career.
“On the other hand, it always seemed interesting; I wanted to take it,” senior Vincent Bolec said.

I like how there’s enough info on the class but I have to agree on It needing a bit more quotes.
