Over 50% of Morton students say hallway traffic is problematic at Morton East. After a survey was taken, students reported that hallway traffic is a daily nuisance in their school lives.
According to Mcleanmirror.com, the top five causes of hallway traffic are people walking in large groups. A percentage of students say that large groups do impact them at school when it comes to getting to class on time.
“Get the hallway freaks out! Maybe I’m hating because I wasn’t getting any, but still!” said Joselyn Trujillo, a Morton graduate.
Of course, there are other reasons for the cause of hallway traffic beyond groups. According to Bvswnew.com, slow walkers are a huge contributor to hallway traffic. Students who take their sweet time are not only annoying to others but also cause students to be late to class.
“They walk like cattle,” said sophomore Kalani Lucero.
Interestingly, it isn’t seen as much of an issue by the administration.
“I mean, listen, we’re in a building with 3,200 students, so when students are moving in the hallways, it’s all good with me,” said Principal Jose Gamboa.
Although it doesn’t seem like much of a problem to higher-ups, students would beg to differ.
“Las causas principales del tráfico en los pasillos son con los estudiantes platicando y la falta de organización,” said senior Jhovany Lara Leos.
Another student agrees.
“Sophomores not being used to the hallway rules and always stopping to talk or walking aimlessly is one of the main causes of hallway traffic,” said senior Edward Rodriguez.
