Most Morton East seniors will be traveling summer 2023.

According to “TeenLife“, though high school students aren’t in college they can get a head start by enrolling in college classes during summer to make college fast and easy. Many students take advantage of summer by relaxing and sleeping in, while others work to achieve their goals and gain work experience, or find hobbies they are good at to be occupied and be productive. Others take time to travel and go on vacations they might not be able to go through out the school year or to visit family. In a random survey of 100 Morton East students 19 said they would be going to summer to make up high school credits, 43 will be traveling, and 38 will have a relaxing summer.

“My summer plans consist of me mostly working and starting my cdl program for truck driving. I also will be traveling to Puerto Rico this summer so I look forward to that, I will be going with my step dad and my mom,” senior Cassy Menes said.

Another student from Morton East Lizbeth, has similar plans like Cassy.

“My plans for summer are working but also traveling and going to concerts like summer smash, I am going to New York in July and Dominican Republic in August.” senior Lizbeth Vargas said.

While another student from Morton East Rebecca, will spend most of her time home with her family.

“My summer plans have changed because my baby was supposed to be born after graduation but a few things changed after he came early so I will no longer be going back to school in person, but I will continue online and will also be a stay at home mom throughout the summer while I figure out what college I will be going too with the support of my family and boyfriends family,” senior Rebecca Sosa said.

Another student from Morton East Gianni, has similar ideas about college.

“For summer I will be working at the mall and going to Georgia and camping with my boyfriend’s family, while I prepare myself for college and enrolling into the college I’ve been looking forward to study in for a while now,” senior Gianni Dominguez said.
