Seniors have fees to pay

As the school year is coming to an end most seniors around the country are all ready to graduate, but some might not be able to because they have fees to pay their school.

According to Rocket HQ, (https://rockethq.com/learn/personal-finances/senior-year-expenses), “You’ll need to buy the required ceremony uniform. Cap, gown and tassel: $30 – $50. Graduation outfit: $50.” This means that there are seniors all over the country that owe the school fees over just their cap and gown. This is a big impact for seniors that do not have the money at the time and sometimes is the only thing that is holding them back from graduation.

In a random survey of 97 students, there is a whopping response of 88.7% (86 students) who have senior fees they need to pay. The majority of the fees range between $50 to $100 that seniors still need to pay. There are also 11 people who have passed the $300 mark on fees. With graduation right around the corner, people might want to start paying those fees as soon as possible before it’s too late.

Some people have already started to pay for some of their fees little by little.

“I have a lot of money that I owe the school, but I’m already starting to pay it off. I go in like every week and pay them because I want to walk on stage,” said senior Edwin Landeros.

However, there are also others that have not paid their fees, but they plan to do it soon.

“I haven’t checked how much I owe in fees. All I know is that I have at least $300 in fees I still need to pay. I don’t know when I’m going to start paying them but it’s going to be soon for sure,” said a senior at Morton East.
