More than half of students surveyed say they will be spending Valentine’s Day by themselves.
According to fortune.com/valentines-day-the numbers, there are 105 million unmarried people in the U.S, 44% of all U.S residents over age 18 are living the single life. Fifty-three percent of all single people are women and 47% are men. More and more single people joined dating apps — Tinder increased 7.6% last year on Valentine’s Day. In a random survey of 100 Morton East students, 56% said yes, they will feel alone and lonely this Valentine’s Day.
‘’I think Valentine’s Day is overrated. Being single is better,’’ senior Valery Sosa said.
Some people think the same way as Valery – even if they aren’t single.
‘’I think that your boyfriend should buy you something every day — not just that Valentine’s Day,’’ senior Carolina Herrera said.
