Super Bowl 2025 was one for the books, featuring unforgettable moments before the game even kicked off. As fans packed the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, the excitement was palpable—this was no ordinary Super Bowl. With the top two teams facing off in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, the night began with an unforgettable opening sequence, as Philly went up 24–0 in the second half. Yet, many fans were dissatisfied with this year’s Super Bowl matchup, calling it the worst despite its historic stakes.
Here’s what some students and staff had to say about this year’s Super Bowl:
“Yeah, I’d rather have the Lions versus any team besides the Chiefs. We deserve this win. We’ve been waiting so long for a run like this—it would be amazing if they won it or at least made it,” said Adan Potenciano, a student at Morton East.
This student hates the Chiefs.
“Any team besides the Chiefs—I want them in the Super Bowl. Why? Because they suck, rig the games, everyone hates them, and someone’s got to humble Kelce for once. Nah, I loved this year’s Super Bowl—mainly because the Eagles won, but also because they got destroyed,” said Rual Nuno, a student at Morton East.
Another student also agrees with being a Chiefs hater.
“As an Eagles fan, that was the best game I’ve seen this season. Locking up Mahomes, defense shutting down that attack, Cooper’s pick-six, Jalen’s throw—nah, amazing, bro. I wouldn’t choose another team because if it’s not the Eagles, I don’t want it,” said Martin Quinones, a student at Morton East.
This student didn’t want either team in the Super Bowl.
“Nah, I’d rather have a Ravens vs. Lions Super Bowl this year, or Bills vs. Lions. One, because the Lions played well in the regular season. This year was good, of course, because the Chiefs lost and Mahomes threw his worst Super Bowl performance. He won’t get considered the ‘GOAT’—that stays with Brady,” said Edgar Marin, a student at Morton East.
Another student wanted the Bills in New Orleans.
“I’d rather have the Bills face off against the Eagles or Commanders. I hate the Chiefs, and everyone does—no one is trying to see them win again. I liked this Super Bowl for the simple fact that the Chiefs got destroyed by Philly,” said Keven Armas, a student at Morton East.
