Student meets 2016 World Series Champion
November 22, 2016
Morton East student Paulo Hernandez met 2016 World Series Champion Cub Javier Baez this past weekend at Café Zoot! Javier Baez, known as Javy to his fans, flew in from Las Vegas, Nevada where he attended the 2016 Latin Grammy’s and presented an award. Javy landed at O’hare airport where he ordered a large tea, a large café, two plain bagels, two ham egg and cheese croissants, and a cinnamon roll from Paulo. According to Paulo, he recognized him by the chain and the slash on his left eyebrow. “When I recognized him, I told him cut and come to my register. I took he’s order and my co-worker took his girlfriend’s order,” said Paulo. Javy was nice and took a picture with Paulo and gave him his autograph. “It made my day,” Paulo said.
