Many students from Morton East High School say that they feel unsafe at school.
In a random survey of 102 Morton East students, 76 students said they do not feel safe, and 26 said they feel safe at school.
According to Google AI Overview, about one-third of teens worldwide (around 33%) do not feel safe at school. Especially students who are part of the LGBTQ community—they don’t feel safe because they feel like they would be judged for how they look or dress, and they don’t feel like the school would accept them. One report from a school stated that 32% felt safe at school and 87% felt unsafe at school. Due to the new generation, the percentage for both could either go up or down, which shows that there’s a high percentage of students who feel unsafe.
Many students from the school slowly feel unsafe being around crowded places.
“We live in a ghetto neighborhood. I feel unsafe either in the cafeteria or in the hallways because anything could happen,” said senior Emma Torres.
Since it is so crowded in the hallways, you can’t capture much of what’s happening around you.
“Not really, because there’s no metal detectors in the doors,” said junior Jesus Marquez.
Having people dedicated to securing and keeping places in spots is best to keep safe in school and keep trouble out.
“I feel safe in school because of the securities,” said senior Ledarian.

I agree with this article because I myself feel sometimes unsafe at school due to some students
One thing that needs improvement is that there is barely any quotes so it can be credible

One thing I thought you did really well was having many quotes. I think you could improve your article if you had are your transitions.

Great article, a good topic that needs to be talked about. What might improve this a little more is maybe a couple more quotes

I think student health and safety is important but you guys could have asked staff and teachers for their point of view of how they see the safety in school.

It was good maybe more opinions on how they feel. Maybe even staff too.

One thing I thought you did really well on was getting your information and the students’ thoughts on how they feel. What I do think you could improve on is the picture
