Out of a total of 3,154 students, 497 are off-track, which is 16% of students who are not on track for graduation.
According to assistant principal Dr. Michael Parrie, the sophomores are the most on-track for graduation. There are 935 sophomores on track, with 8% of sophomores being off-track. Surprisingly, 908 juniors are on track, with 18% off-track. Currently, 814 seniors are on track, with 21% of seniors off-track.
“Students are working to get on track, with 150 students in night school,” Dr. Michael Parrie said.
According to one senior, making up credits can be a drag.
“I failed one class and did night school right away to catch up. Night school was lowkey boring,” a senior student said.
But one student disagrees and says something different.
“I failed five classes, and how I caught up was by doing night school and EWS. Night school is fun, and I like the people,” another senior student said.
Still, other students decide to not do their work and think about the consequences later.
“I’m failing two classes and I’m too lazy to do work; that’s why I’m not on track,” a senior student said.

Morton East does a good job of helping student get back on track. There are various credit recovery programs that the school offers in order to help students. If are not on track to graduate or don’t know if you are, please see your counselor asap
