Arturo Cervantes, earned first place and qualified for Nationals culinary competition for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America).
He and two other Mustangs competed against 13 other students from the State on March 22 at the College of DuPage. Arturo walked away with the gold, and Nadia Perez and Daniel Mireles earned silver.
“They all worked very hard in preparation for this competition,” said culinary teacher and chef Yves Chambaz.
The next step for Arturo Cervantes is Nationals in Seattle, Washington on June 29.
