Morton Bell Schedule Revised
April 18, 2019
Next year, students will be starting at 8 am again.
Is Morton thinking about revising the revised schedule? A lot has been said about the 2018-2019 bell schedule, students say the 8:45 schedule is way better than the 8 o’clock bell. Some teachers think the schedule should change back since students still don’t go in early in the morning to get help if needed.
Morton Teachers and Students have different thoughts on this year’s new bell schedule. The 8:45 schedule seems to be pleasing the majority of the students because they get to sleep in an extra hour or so. Teachers have different thoughts, a study shows that only 30% of students take advantage of the extra hour they get to go in for help in the morning. All spring sport team members were asked how they felt about the new schedule and how it could affect them. 2/3 of them felt in a negative way towards the 2018-2019 schedule since it meant they got out of practice later in the day.
“ The new schedule has its perks, but I personally like the 8 o’clock schedule, I would be able to enjoy more daylight time at home with my family or be able to go out more after practice,” said Morton golf player Anthony Ambriz.
We also asked a non-Morton athlete how they felt about the new schedule….
“The new schedule is way better since we get a little bit more sleep in the morning, and getting out at 3:10 works just fine, its gives us enough time to go out with friends while there’s still sunlight out and still make it home to do our homework without it being so late,” said Morton student Alex Perez.
In addition, a Morton teacher was asked for their opinion on the topic…
“We arrive and leave at the same time as the 8 o’clock schedule so it doesn’t affect us, the new bell schedule was for students to use the 45 before first hour to come in and receive the help they need, but there is only a handful of students that take advantage of that time,” said journalism teacher Mr.Frankfother

What i found believable right away was how it says teachers say not many students come in the morning for help, which is true. I found it questionable how why they would change it if its just the first year it changed. But another reason why i believed this was true is because since this year was the first time the bell scheduled changed, maybe the school was just experimenting to see how it would go and maybe they had regret it. I would of believed this if i saw it on social media, if i had not read the disclaimer at the end saying it is fake.

I do believe that teacher would want the time bell to change for those students who don’t make it on time. Something I’ll question is why did they decide to change it now when it takes time to get things threw the system. If someone would to share this i would believe it because you can never know when things change.

One thing i found believable about the article is how they said that teachers would like the bell schedule to be revised since students don’t come in the morning anyway.
One thing i found questionable was that how would they change the bell schedule so fast for next year because it takes time to change things in the system.
I wouldn’t really believe this article because we just had a time change this year and i would doubt they would put it back.
