Coffee-themed is the best gift suggestion for teachers, it seems.

As the holidays approach, students often wonder what gifts their teachers and school staff might appreciate most. To find out, I asked a few staff members for their thoughts.

“I’ve always liked notes from students,” said dean Ms. Colleen Del Monaco.

“A gift card to like maybe Starbucks or Dunkin’ for a coffee,” said civics teacher Ms. Brenda Lopez.

“Oh yeah, a gift card to Starbucks for sure,” said dean Ms. Salandra Crockett.

“To be honest, anything thoughtful,” said English teacher Ms. Miranda Garcia.

“Gift cards for food in general,” said dean Mr. Sean Arana.

“A gift card for coffee,” said one of the security staff from the second floor.

“Anything that’s useful, like a mug,” said Jennifer from security.

“SpongeBob!” said dean Ms. Sarah Lorraine.

With a mix of thoughtful, practical, and unique preferences, one thing is clear: teachers and staff appreciate the gesture behind the gift most of all.
