Superstitions can bring great things in the New Year!

According to New Year’s Eve Traditions that Start the year Off Right from the Oprah Daily article. Every New year’s is a special one filled with different traditions to just welcome the new year. It’s a big night where we leave that past behind and bring a promise fresh start. Recently, the past few years have been different due to Covid-19 and a lot of things have not been possible but hopefully 2022 will be a different year. The big night will be approaching soon, and it is time to start preparing those traditions.

Usually, there is many traditions/superstitions that people do to be able to bring good luck into their new year and some of the few would be eating 12 grapes at midnight, setting up their new year’s intentions, having a big toast to remember, New year’s kiss, Wearing red or yellow underwear, etc. Whichever tradition you do, hopefully it will be able to bring a good year into your life.

In a random survey of 100 Morton East Students, 100% of the students celebrate New year’s with a tradition and only 47% celebrate it eating their 12 grapes at midnight. Eating grapes is a big symbolism to most families since grapes bring good luck and wards of bad luck for the new year.

The students’ parents at the school answered some questions about their traditions. The mothers of a student, Sara, Aurora and Liliana are always looking forward to New Year’s once November starts.

The mothers of some students share one of their traditions that cannot be missed during this holiday.

But besides the grapes the tradition of wearing red or yellow underwear is an important one too in Latin American households. Red underwear invites romantic passion during the new year and yellow attracts money into your life. So, if you want more love or money, you should try one of these traditions.

Many New years cannot end without being chaotic and it is pleasant when you get to remember the past.

New Year’s for many is an important date and has the biggest meaning. Some students at the school have different traditions and a lot were interesting in learning more about.

“Something, similar with eating grapes but with chocolates, it’s a bit sweeter, lol, but it’s something different that could be given to smaller children with a cup of milk,” said Marisol.

The new year, 2022, is approaching and it is thrilling to know what it will offer.
